Postpartum Depression

Ketamine Infusion Therapy may offer relief for mother’s suffering from postpartum depression. Unlike some medication therapies that may pose a risk to infants via breastmilk, ketamine presents an option to control depressive moods without these interactions.

Ketamine Infusion Therapy can be used in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This option can reduce or eliminate the side effects of other treatment modalities. It can be highly effective in decreasing anxiety provoking obsessions thus eliminating compulsive behaviors.

Ketamine has been praised for its strength, speed, and usefulness when given to treat a variety of anxiety disorders. Unlike other therapies, patients undergoing Ketamine infusion often feel relief from symptoms within a few days after only a few infusion treatments.

Suicidal Ideation

Ketamine Infusion Therapy is effective in providing relief from depressive symptoms (depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, etc.); those that lead to suicidal thoughts.

Intravenous ketamine has shown promise for relieving fibromyalgia pain. Widespread muscle pain and tenderness are the most common symptoms of this condition.

Why Ketamine?

In 1970, Ketamine was approved by the FDA as an anesthetic and it has been in use all over the world in humans and animals.  It is a potent pain killer and anesthetic that does not depress the cardiovascular or respiratory systems as much as other anesthetics.  At higher doses it is used in the operating and emergency rooms for injuries, pain, and surgeries.

In the last decade, Ketamine has been a source of many research studies for use in many alternative ways.  It has had very positive results with studies being presented from major Universities and health organizations.  Work has been done at The National Institute of Mental Health, Stanford, Yale, Cleveland Clinic, USC, and Massachusetts General Hospital, and University of Utah.  At low doses, it has been found to have many applications and to be quite beneficial in treating mood disorders (major depression, bipolar, obsessive-compulsive, anxiety, post-partum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), chronic pain, migraines, etc.

What Does The Research Say?

Early research demonstrated quick relief but the relief only lasted 7-10 days.  Research is showing more lasting differences with a series of infusions, usually 4-6 over a 2-3 week period.  We customize ketamine infusion therapy to each person as everyone is different and we want to give you what you need. Many have wondered about intramuscular or intranasal administration but it is hard to control the actual effective amount reaching your system and results have not been nearly as good with these techniques.  Receiving the ketamine intravenously we are able to control the actual amount of the medicine in your blood and receive a concentration that will get you your desired effects. With an IV in place, we can quickly administer medications to calm nerves, or prevent nausea if such side effects occur. We can even stop the infusion at any time if needed.

The medicine is felt very quickly, usually within 5 minutes after your IV is placed, and its immediate effects disappear in 15-20 minutes once you complete your session, so you can get back to your life.  We know exactly how much we have given you so we can make adjustments based on your response giving better long term results.

Fast Acting

Clinical research shows that ketamine treatments can work to relieve symptoms in less than an hour.

Effective For Patients Getting Little Relief From Other Treatments

Research from Yale shows that relief from ketamine treatments is real, and replicated in many studies.

Renew, Rejuvenate

Clinical research shows that ketamine can lift depression in hours, or even minutes-much faster than commonly used antidepressant medication now available. Furthermore, research shows that a single dose can last for a week or longer.
