Myers cocktail

“Myers’ cocktail” may be synonymous with IV micronutrient therapy (IVMT) to some since this infusion started it all. Dr. John Myers pioneered the use of IV vitamins and minerals to treat his patients with a variety of medical problems since the late 1950s. His patients, who have been taking IV therapy for decades, attest to its effectiveness and even seek it long after he died. Current knowledge caused modifications to enhance the original concoction made by Dr. Myers, but it remains the most popular IV protocol.

In a review of Dr.Gaby, the modified version was beneficial for a wide range of medical conditions, time and again with outstanding results. It is often best for health issues such as asthma, migraines, fatigue, fibromyalgia, muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infection, and inflammation. The common components of Myers Cocktail include magnesium, calcium, vitamin B complex, and vitamin C. Magnesium relaxes both vascular and bronchial smooth muscle that aids those suffering from vasospasm and bronchial asthma. It can also potentially improve mood and enhance the effects of standard antidepressant treatment, as confirmed by a study in 2016.

Glutathione Infusion

Glutathione (GSH) is a small protein found in cells and is a master antioxidant that enhances the utilization and recycling of other antioxidants. It comprises three amino acids: cysteine, glycine, and glutamate. You can find it in foods such as spinach, avocados, asparagus, okra, etc., although cooking and pasteurization diminish its levels significantly.

GSH’s value as a nutritional supplement derives from its role in synthesizing proteins in the body. These proteins perform many functions relating to the synthesis and repair of tissues. These are just some of the many undergoing research regarding this antioxidant's use and endless potential, GSH.

Vitamin B-complex also plays a role in decreasing oxidative stress, acting as an antioxidant. IV Ketamine Therapy

There has been a lot of discussion about ketamine therapy for depression and anxiety in the news lately.  Does it make a difference?  It really does make a remarkable difference!  We frequently hear our patient's family say the same things:  "I got my wife back!"  I found my daughter again."  "I had thought she was lost."  "It has been life-changing for my husband!"  Not only are our patients feeling different but the people around them see the difference.

What is ketamine therapy?

Ketamine is an FDA approved medicine commonly used in anesthesia.  It in the category of a psychedelic sedative hypnotic as NMDA receptor antagonist.  What that means it blocks the nmda receptors in the brain and can make you sleepy, decrease pain, and can give you crazy dreams.  It is also used on the street as a recreational drug often called special K.  That all sounds intimidating and a little scary.  What they found is that through micro-dosing or giving a small amount it has a huge effect on depression and anxiety.  It is described as a brain or nerve reset

What should you know?  Under the hands of a quality doctor these micro-dosing drips are NOT habit forming or addicting.  It is a FDA approved medication being used off-label for depression and anxiety therapy.  It starts to work after the first or second infusion.  It has an amazing ability to take away suicidal thoughts almost immediately.  It involves 6 loading does infusions given over 3-6 weeks.

What happens?

At LifeFusion, each infusion is given by the doctor.  After a consult with one of our physicians, call or text for your infusion appointment.  It is best to not eat anything heavy 2 hours before your infusion.  When you arrive you are greeted and taken to a private room.  You relax in a recliner.  LifeFusion prefers you to have a support person come and sit with you during the infusion.  A small IV is started in your arm and the room lights are dimmed.  You relax and enjoy!  It provides minimal sedation with you being awake and conversant the whole time.  Your blood pressure and oxygen are monitored.  The drip lasts about 45 minutes.  They take out your iv and you need a ride home. You may be a little unsteady for a couple of hours but you usually feel quite like yourself by the time you are home.
